Symantec revenues rise 16% on cloud service uptake in Q3, but still miss guidance

Symantec said revenues for its fiscal third quarter to end December rose 16 percent from the year before to USD 1.209 billion, just under guidance, mainly on deferred billings for the company's cloud services and a mix shift at Enterprise. The net profit rose to USD 1.342 billion from 46 million, reflecting gains from the sale of certain assets business. Diluted earnings per share lifted to USD 2.01 from 0.07. Adjusted diluted EPS advanced to USD 0.49 from 0.32. The operating margin meanwhile went to 7.9 percent from negative 1.5 percent. The company said it will give out a cash dividend of
