Symantec sells Website Security for USD 950 mln, plus stake in acquirer

Symantec has agreed to sell its Website Security and related PKI solutions operations to DigiCert for USD 950 million in cash and a 30 percent stake in the DigiCert business at close. CEO John Merrill will stay at the helm of DigiCert, which will remain at its headquarters in Lehi, Utah, and continue to employ over 1,000 professionals.
