T-Mobile builds 4 Czech transmitters for EAN broadband

T-Mobile Czech Republic is completing four transmitters needed to provide national coverage of the system allowing broadband access on board aeroplanes during flights. The system is based on a combination of the European Aviation Network (EAN) and terrestrial LTE networks, adjusted for high speeds and high altitudes. Deutsche Telekom and Inmarsat with their technology partners, including Thales and Nokia, successfully tested the technology during a three-hour flight in a low-traffic area near a military zone in the UK.
