T-Mobile NL developing LTE in absence of 5G

Monday 20 November 2017 | 23:09 CET | News
T-Mobile Netherlands expects 5G to only be used in frequencies above 3 GHz. 4G is used in all licenses below 3 GHz, with a (decreasing) role for 2G and 3G. These 4G networks are being further developed to LTE-Advanced-Pro. The Netherlands is handicapped by the absence of a 3.5 GHz band, said Richard Marijs, network strategist at T-Mobile NL, speaking at Telecompaper's Telecom Insights conference.
