T-Mobile NL plans HSPA+, spectrum refarming ahead of LTE

T-Mobile Netherlands will roll out HSPA+ at up to 21Mbps in the Netherlands this year in order to help meet the growing demand for data services, Deutsche Telekom CTO Olivier Baujard told Telecompaper in an interview at the Mobile World Congress. The Dutch operator is focusing on expanding coverage and capacity, as well as the robustness of the network, he said. The Netherlands has the highest penetration of smartphones and use of data services in Europe, with a relatively high adoption of new services, according to Baujard.
