Friday 3 July 2020 | 10:37 CET | News
T-Mobile US has shut down Sprint's legacy 2.5 GHz 5G network, to refarm the spectrum for its own 5G services, Fierce Wireless reported. The companies completed their USD 26.5 billion merger on 1 April. T-Mobile US confirmed it has redeployed its new 2.5 GHz spectrum in New York City, and in parts of Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles, all initial Sprint 5G markets. Sprint had its 5G network in 13 areas, including Phoenix, Washington DC, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Kansas City and Miami.
