
T-Mobile US reported record revenues and adjusted EBITDA in the fourth quarter and gave guidance for higher financials in 2020, with pre-merger related costs expected at USD 200-300 million, before taxes. The company noted that its 5G network now covers more than 200 million people and over 5,000 cities and towns. It 4G network covers 248 million and 1.5 million square miles while the number of 600 MHz compatible devices on the network is at over 33 million.
Revenues for Q4, up 4 percent from the year before to USD 11.9 billion, with service revenues also reaching all-time highs, rising 6 percent to USD 34.0 billion. The net profit meanwhile lifted 17 percent to USD 751 million, with diluted earnings per share going 16 percent higher to USD 0.87 and adjusted EBITDA advancing 9 percent to a record USD 3.2 billion. Net cash provided by operating activities jumped 61 percent to USD 1.5 billion, with free cash flow up 15 percent to USD 1.4 billion.
For the full year, revenues advanced 4 percent to USD 45 billion, service revenues went 6 percent higher to USD 34 billion, the net profit climbed 20 percent to USD 3.5 billion and the adjusted EBITDA went up by 8 perecnt to USD 13.4 billion. Cash provided from operating activities increased by 75 percent to USD 6.8 billion, with free cash flow up 22 percent to USD 4.3 billion.
T-Mobile US company confirmed it added 1.9 million new customers in Q4, taking its total base to 86 million. For the full year, additions went to 9 million. New postpaid customers amounted to 1.3 million, with additions for the full year at 4.5 million while postpaid phone customers went up by 1.0 million in the quarter, and 3.1 million in the year. As already stated, postpaid phone churn went to 1.01 percent, up from 0.89 percent in the third quarter and 0.99 percent the year before.
The company also reiterated the addition of 77,000 prepaid customers in the quarter, for a total of 339,000 net additions in the full year. Migrations to postpaid plans reduced prepaid net growth by approximately 160,000 in the fourth quarter and 525,000 for full-year 2019, T-Mobile US said earlier.
Looking ahead to full year 2020, the company is guiding for postpaid net additions of 2.6-3.6 million, an adjusted EBITDA target of USD 13.7-14.0 billion, including leasing revenues of USD 450-550, net cash from operating activities at USD 7.9-8.5 billion, excluding merger-related costs and any settlement of interest rate swaps, with free cash flow at USD 5.4-5.8 billion.
