T-Systems hires Tele2 exec to head IoT business
T-Systems said it has named Rami Avidan Senior Vice President of Internet of Things (IoT), effective 01 April. Avidan succeeds Ingo Hofacker, who is leaving the company at his own request. 

Hofacker started the IoT business division at T-Systems two years ago. Avidan was the CEO of Tele2 IoT until September 2018, building the Internet of Things division for the Swedish telecommunication company over the past six years. He contributed to creating technical solutions with a team of around 200 IoT experts. 

Before joining Tele2 in 2013, Avidan held various leadership positions at telecommunications and IT security companies such as Wyless Group and Cryptzone Group.

Tele2 names AT&T's Lensch head of IoT division

Tele2 has appointed Greg Lensch as CEO for Tele2 IoT from 11 June, replacing Johan Ragnevad, who has been acting as head of IoT since 12 April. Ragnevad will continue as strategy director at Tele2 IoT. Lensch has more than 20 years' experience in sales, marketing, and service development from the telecoms market and he was most recently general manager for AT&T in the Nordic region.

T-Systems extends partnership with VMware to provide cloud service on AWS

Deutsche Telekom said T-Systems is extending the partnership with VMware to provide cloud service on the AWS public cloud. The CEO of VMware Pat Gelsinger and Adel Al-Saleh, CEO of T-Systems, signed the agreement at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

T-Systems opens CloudHub in Berlin

Deutsche Telekom said T-Systems has opened a CloudHub in Berlin. The hub is a meeting point between customers and cloud experts to find digital solutions for their businesses. It is part of a co-working office with employees from Amazon Web Services, start-ups and freelancers.

Deutsche Telekom's T-Systems, PTC expand partnership

Deutsche Telekom's business customer unit T-Systems is expanding its cooperation with PTC, a specialist in product development and IoT. Deutsche Telekom's unit now offers PTC's entire product portfolio to customers in the automotive, aviation and manufacturing industries worldwide. T-Systems will present the offer in detail at the PTC Forum Europe on 28 November in Stuttgart.

Deutsche Telekom prepares for LTE-M roll-out in 2019

Deutsche Telekom is preparing the roll-out of its 5G-ready LTE-M technology in 2019 with the accelerated development of LTE-M products. The company has unveiled the finalists of the hubraum LTE-M Prototyping programme at a summit in Vienna, Austria. The initiative was established by Deutsche Telekom's in-house tech incubator hubraum in cooperation with its ICT services arm T-Systems. It builds on successfully implemented prototyping programmes for NB-IoT products.

Tele2 loses strategy chief Andersson

Tele2 announced that Stina Andersson, its head of strategy and business development, will leave the company after it completes the merger with Com Hem. Andersson is leaving to pursue other opportunities, after joining Tele2 in 2016 from shareholder Kinnevik and helping refocus the company on the Nordic and Baltic region. She will remain in her position at Tele2 until one month after closing of the Com Hem merger.
