Tablet sales in Germany to grow 4% in 2016 - Bitkom

Tuesday 2 August 2016 | 18:16 CET | News
Sales of tablets in Germany are forecast to grow by 4 percent in 2016 to reach 7.7 million units, according to research from Bitkom. This will generate sales revenue of EUR 2.3 billion, up 11 percent from 2015. Growth will be driven by sales of so-called detachables, tablets which can be connected to a keyboard and used as a notebook or PC. Sales of classic touchscreen tablets is falling in both the consumer and business markets. Bitkom estimates that 41 percent of Germans (aged 14+) used a tablet, up from 28 percent in 2014.
