Taiwan handset sales to grow 25% in H2

Handset sales in the Taiwan market are expected to grow 25 percent in H2 compared to the first half of the year to 3.6 million units, according to Taiwanese publication DigiTimes citing Andy Tu, VP of consumer business at Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET). Efforts initiated by FET and other fellow carriers to promote commercial 5G services by offering subsidies for the purchases of 5G phones in bundled sales will spur replacement demand for handsets in the local market, Tu said.
