TalkTalk warns of MVNO threat from EE, BT merger

Wednesday 22 July 2015 | 10:42 CET | News
TalkTalk believes that the proposed merger of BT and EE will significantly lessen competition in the market for wholesale MVNO agreements. In a submission to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), TalkTalk said the merger would cut the number of active MVNO wholesalers from two (EE and Three/O2) to one, thereby making it difficult, or in some cases impossible, for companies wishing to enter MVNO agreement. TalkTalk said it understood that Vodafone was preparing to withdraw completely from the MVNO market and claims that Vodafone terminated TalkTalk's MVNO agreement without warning.
