Tanzanian govt brings in regulations and USD 900 fee for bloggers

The government has given bloggers in Tanzania two weeks to register their platforms and pay a USD 900 licence fee under the new Online Content Regulations 2018, reports AfricaNews. The regulations were passed in March and have raised fears that the government is cracking down on internet users, said the portal All online content providers were required to complete an application by 05 May, the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) said.
