Tcell EBITDA falls sharply in Q2

Monday 20 July 2015 | 11:52 CET | News
Tajikistan mobile operator Tcell saw its service revenues fall 8.3 percent year-on-year in local currency in the second quarter, as higher data revenues could only partly compensate for a decline in international traffic revenues. The adjusted EBITDA margin fell sharply, to 29.7 percent from 44.5 percent a year ago, due to lower billed revenues as well as bad debt expenses and additional accrued taxes, parent company TeliaSonera said. Tcell also lost 127,000 mobile subscribers in the three months, to finish June with a total 2.626 million, or 5.4 percent percent less than a year ago.
