TDC and Dong Energy formally agreed on the sale of Dong Energy's fibre communications network to TDC. The network will be operated as an open network with service provider access. The purchase price is expected to total DKK 425 million. Of the expected total purchase price, DKK 325 million will be paid in cash on the completion of the agreement, which is expected to take place before the end of 2009. The remaining sum to be paid will depend on the future performance of the acquired activities. TDC regards the investment as the next natural step in developing its fiber strategy. The employees of both TDC and Dong Energy's fibre communications network activities were informed of the divestment early this morning.
