TDC names ex-Telenor executive Clausen as new CEO

Danish operator TDC has named Henrik Clausen as its new CEO, moving from the same role at Bang & Olufsen. Clausen has previous experience in the telecoms industry, having been CEO at Telenor Denmark from 2005 to 2010.

From 2010 to 2014, Clausen was CEO of Telenor's Malaysian arm, DiGi, and from 2014 to 2016 he was executive vice president for strategy and digital affairs for Telenor globally, and advisor to Telenor's group CEO. Clausen holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from INSEAD.

Clausen replaces interim CEO Mike Parton, who steps down on 17 February to resume his position as vice chairman of TDC’s board of directors. Board chairman Berg Nordberg thanked Parton for his contribution and added that the operator is confident that Clausen is the right person to ensure it continues to advance its strategic ambition of creating a digital infrastructure company (TDC Net) and a services arm (Nuuday).

South Korean company LiveCare has announced that its company ULikeKorea has signed a memorandum of understanding with TDC to introduce the world's first NB-IoT bio-capsule to Denmark. The smart livestock health care management company plans to start a pilot project in the first half of 2020 at a dairy farm.

Danish operator TDC said that its infrastructure division TDC NetCo is changing its name to TDC Net and getting a new logo. It is also adopting the motto 'We connect Denmark, for everyone's benefit'. This reflects its view that countries with good infrastructure manage better both in social and economic terms.

Telia Company has announced the appointment of Allison Kirkby as its president and CEO from the second quarter of 2020, taking up the position from her role as CEO and president of TDC Group. Christian Luiga will remain as acting president and CEO at Telia until then, before returning to his role as executive vice president and CFO.

3 Denmark said it has signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with Bang & Olufsen to sell selected B&O Play products. Tre said it will be the only company in the world selling BeoPlay A2 wearable loudspeakers, and the BeoPlay H2 and BeoPlay H6 headphones. Clausen appointed as CEO for Sonofon

Henrik Clausen (42), currently managing director of Cybercity, will take up the position as new CEO of Sonofon. He will also continue as managing director of Cybercity, making him head of all of Telenor's joint telecom activities in Denmark.
