Tele2 CEO Kirkby to become TDC CEO in December

TDC said it is appointing Allison Kirkby as CEO from December 2018. She will be moving to the Danish operator from her current role as president and group CEO at Tele2. Kirkby replaces Pernille Erenbjerg, who announced her resignation in May when the acquisition of TDC by the DK Consortium was announced. 

Erenbjerg will remain CEO until Kirkby takes over. Bert Nordberg, chairman of the board of directors of the TDC Group, described Kirkby as having "visionary leadership" and experience in the telecoms industry. It was announced in January that Kirkby would be handing leadership of Tele2 to Com Hem CEO Anders Nilsson following their merger.

Kirkby has served as Tele2 CEO since September 2015, after first joining the company in May 2014 as CFO. Prior to that she worked as CFO of the TV production company Shine, now part of 21st Century Fox, and was Virgin Media's Executive Director of Finance Operations & Transformation. Before that she worked two decades at Procter & Gamble in a variety of senior financial and operational roles.

TDC saves EUR 5 mln annually in debt repricing

Danish operator TDC said that it has successfully repriced its outstanding euro term loan B facility, reducing the margin by 25 basis points across the margin grid, providing approximately EUR 5 million per annum in interest savings. The nine-month margin ratchet holiday due to expire in March 2019 was removed with immediate effect.

Tele2 said it has appointed Kim Hagberg as EVP Chief Operations and member of the leadership team, reporting to Anders Nilsson. Since Tele2 announced its merger with Com Hem in January, Hagberg has played an essential role in planning and managing integration processes, encompassing several areas of expertise. In her new role, she will continue those efforts.

TDC Q3 revenue up on consumer mobile growth, business segment sees EBITDA uptick

Denmark's TDC group said that consumer mobile revenue supported a growth in third quarter turnover, and business revenue stabilised, with business EBITDA edging up by 0.5 percent for the first nine months. Business mobility profit was supported by the intake of new customers thanks to the SKI public procurement scheme.

YouSee names Brandstrup head of new channel Xee, Fox Networks Group Nordic

TDC subsidiary YouSee is launching a channel called Xee for its in-house productions as well as US serials from Fox, and it will be led by industry veteran Pil Gundelach Brandstrup. She joins YouSee in February 2019 from Danmarks Radio, where she has spent the last five years at the helm of DR1, after several years at DR3, DR Ramasjang and DR Ultra. Before that, she was programme director for the channels TV2, Zebra and Bliss in Norway.

Tele2 Sweden provides switchboard and mobile services to national sports federation for 3.5 years

Tele2 Sweden said it has signed an agreement with the national sports federation, RF. It will supply switchboard services and mobile subscriptions to 71 associations and 86 organisations for at least 3.5 years. RF is a new customer for Tele2.

TDC to use Get sale proceeds to prepay term loan, cut leverage

Danish operator TDC said that a substantial part of the proceeds of its sale of Norwegi an operator Get to Telia Norway will go towards advance payment at par of Term Loan B (TLB) under TDC's senior secured credit facilities. TDC expects to prepay TLB, including all of the US dollar-denominated tranche, during Q4 2018 by approximately the equivalent of DKK 15 billion. This will reduce total reported net leverage at the TDC level to just below 3.0 times.

Tele2 Sweden Q3 mobile service revenue up 1%, postpaid data use up by 30%

Tele2 Sweden reported an uptick in revenue in the third quarter to SEK 3.83 billion from SEK 3.78 billion a year earlier, led by the mobile division. Data consumption per postpaid customer increased by approximately 30 percent. Mobile revenue rose to SEK 3.02 billion from SEK 2.90 billion, with mobile end-user service revenue increasing to SEK 1.95 billion from SEK 1.94 billion as growth at Comviq postpaid was offset by falls in prepaid and mobile broadband, and mobile equipment revenue climbed to SEK 720 m

Tele2 raises FY outlook again as Q3 sales grow 9%

Tele2 has again upgraded its full-year outlook again, after a strong set of third-quarter results. Revenue rose 7 percent to SEK 6.538 billion, led by growth in Kazakhstan and Croatia and a return to mobile service growth in Sweden. Adjusted EBITDA was up a stronger 12 percent to SEK 1.984 billion, as the impact of EU roaming price cuts lessened.

TDC agrees to buy broadband provider Hiper

Danish operator TDC said has agreed to acquire broadband provider Hiper, which had put itself up for sale. TDC CEO Jaap Postma said that Hiper has developed a scaleable platform with a few years that has broadband as its core product, and which provides a high quality of customer service. He welcomed Hiper's workforce on board.

TDC reports flat Q2 Danish results; TV revenue down, broadband up in Norway

Danish operator TDC, which delisted its shares in June after the buy-out by the DKT consortium of pension funds and a Macquarie fund, held revenue steady in the second quarter of 2018 and claimed a "turnaround" in EBITDA. These are its first quarterly results since the buy-out and the reorganisation of its domestic operations. It also announced the sale of Get and TDC Norway after the end of the quarter.

Telia buys Get and TDC Norway for NOK 21 billion

Telia Company said it has agreed to buy Get TDC Norway from Danish operator TDC at an enterprise value of NOK 21 billion on a cash and debt-free basis, which will result in a comprehensive supplier and a challenger in the market. The announcement comes shortly after TDC Group was taken over by a consortium of pension funds and Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets and decided to split up its Danish operations into network and services arms.

TDC splits Danish ops into services and infrastructure, business division head retires

Denmark's TDC Group, which was recently taken over by a consortium of pension funds and Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, said that it will split its Danish operations into a network company and a services company. There will be no changes at Get or TDC Norway. CEO Pernille Erenbjerg said that in agreement with its new owners, it will pursue investments in Danish infrastructure and digitisation, extending the fibre network and establishing 5G.

TDC CEO to step down by year-end as new owners plan strategy to split up Danish ops

Danish operator TDC said that group CEO and president Pernille Erenbjerg has announced her resignation no later than 31 December 2018. She will support TDC's new owners, a consortium of pension funds and Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, until her replacement has been appointed. TDC added that Mike Parton will become chairman of the board of directors, following the EGM on the previous day.

Tele2 to acquire Com Hem to form Sweden's second-largest operator

Tele2 Group and Com Hem Holding said they are merging to create Sweden's second largest mobile telephony and fixed broadband provider, as Tele2 seeks to focus on the Baltic Sea region after strategic moves elsewhere. Tele2 is absorbing the Swedish cable operator but Com Hem's CEO Anders Nilsson will take over as CEO of the enlarged Tele2 from Allison Kirkby.
