Tech associations respond to EC data economy consultation

A total of 16 tech associations making up the Industry Coalition on Data Protection (ICDP) have issued a joint response to the European Commission's public consultation on its "Building A European Data Economy" package adopted in January. The package addresses restrictions on the free flow of data, including legal barriers on the location of data for storage and processing purposes, and a series of emerging issues relating to data such as ownership, access, reuse, portability and liability. In reply, the ICDP welcomed the EC's work and made further recommendations on how to achieve the goals
