Telcel consolidates Mexico dominance with 72% of mobile market in Q3

Tuesday 12 November 2019 | 15:33 CET | News
Telcel (America Movil) gradually increased its dominance of the Mexican mobile market in spite of asymmetrical regulations imposed back in 2014, accounting for 71.8 percent of the country's revenues in the third quarter of 2019, according to data from the Competitive Intelligence Unit (CIU) cited by Xataka Mexico. The operator's revenues increased by 6.8 percent year on year to MXN 52.7 billion, ahead of rivals AT&T Mexico with 13.9 billion (up 0.3%) and Telefonica's Movistar unit with MXN 6.5 billion (up 0.5%), while the country's MVNOs ended up with MXN 321.4 million.
