
Telcel launches LTE network in 9 Mexican cities

Mexican mobile operator Telcel, a unit of America Movil, has launched its LTE network. Telcel's LTE network will initially cover 9 Mexican cities, including Tijuana, Hermosillo, Juarez, Guadalajara, Queretaro, Monterrey, Puebla, Merida and Distrito Federal. The network provides download speeds of up to 20 Mbps. Telcel will extend its LTE network coverage to 26 cities by the end of the first quarter of 2013, El Universal reports, citing America Movil CEO Daniel Hajj.
