Telcel says CFC USD 1 bln fine is illegal

Wednesday 27 April 2011 | 18:51 CET | News
America Movil's Mexican mobile unit Telcel considers the fine imposed by competition watchdog CFC as illegal, arbitrary, opportunistic and excessive. Telcel was recently ordered to pay a USD 1 billion fine by the country's competition watchdog. Telcel said it will use legal means to fight that decision. In addition to the motion for reconsideration to be submitted to the CFC, Telcel examines other actions against the decision which it called "unfounded" and "arbitrary".
