Telco vendors join 5G industrial automation alliance

Companies in the manufacturing and telecom industries formed a global alliance that aims to create 5G for industrial production. The 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) global forum was created by companies from automation, engineering, and process industries on the one hand, and telecom operators and suppliers on the other. The alliance also includes several scientific institutes. Ericsson is one of the founding members.
