Tele Columbus extends contract with housing cooperative Bauverein der Elbgemeinden

German cable operator Tele Columbus said that it has extended its contract with cooperative building company Bauverein der Elbgemeinden eG to supply 13,000 apartments with fibre. Fibre cable already reaches the basements of the buildings (FTTB) and internet connections are routed to the apartments via Ethernet. Under the new contract, Tele Columbus will upgrade and increase the capacity of the connections in the buildings with the aim of offering tenants gigabit internet connections.
