Tele2 awaits auction conditions for Dutch LTE roll-out

The Dutch parliament will debate on 15 September the conditions of the planned mobile spectrum auction in early 2012. In an interview with Telecompaper, Tele2 Netherlands CEO Gunther Vogelpoel underlined the importance of the debate, noting the strong lobbying from the mobile operators (KPN, Vodafone, T-Mobile),as well as the long duration of the licences (17 years). Tele2 agrees with the government's position that there is currently insufficient competition in the mobile market. The CEO pointed to the stable market shares of the MNOs, the high prices, the low penetration of mobile internet
