Tele2 Croatia has launched a nationwide 4G network, covering 90 percent of the population. The operator said it's the first on the market to offer 4G by default to post-paid and pre-paid customers on all tariffs. The 4G service enables speeds of up to 150 Mbps across the entire 4G coverage. Tele2 also covers 99 percent of the Croatian population with voice services and 97 percent of the population with 3G data services.
Tele2 is the last of the mobile operators in Croatia to launch LTE. Vipnet and Hrvatski Telekom started the services in 2012 and expanded and upgraded their networks after obtaining spectrum in the 800 MHz band in 2013. Tele2 obtained an additional 15 MHz in the 1,800 MHz band in 2014 to support the 4G launch and also conducted a major upgrade of the 3G network last year.
