Tele2 Kazakhstan completes joint venture with Altel

Tuesday 1 March 2016 | 13:37 CET | News
Tele2 said that it has completed the joint venture of its own and Kazakhtelecom's mobile businesses in Kazakhstan, under the terms of the agreement announced in November 2015. It said the venture will strengthen the position of both companies in Kazakhstan by combining Tele2's existing operations there with Kazakhtelecom's mobile arm, Altel. The new business will have more than 6 million subscribers and a market share of around 23 percent. All the relevant regulatory approvals to complete the transaction have been received.
