Tele2 loses out in Norway spectrum auction
Tele2 announced that it did not obtain any resources in the multi-band frequency auction held in Norway on 2 December. Tele2 Norway's operations continue on frequency resources in the 900 and 2,100 MHz band, while seeking the opportunity to obtain additional available resources in the 1,800 MHz band. Tele2 will be able to use its existing frequencies to roll out 4G services. Tele2 said it will further evaluate the situation after the auction and take the appropriate actions to strengthen its position in the country.

Nkom puts framework conditions for 700 MHz, 2.1 GHz auctions out to consultation

Norwegian communications regulator Nkom is putting the framework conditions for a joint allocation 2 x 30 MHz of 700 MHz spectrum and two blocks of 15 MHz in the 2.1 GHz band out to consultation. It proposes a cap of 2 x 20 MHz in each band. The deadline for feedback is 14 September 2018 and the regulator expects to allocate the frequencies in autumn 2019.

Ice Norway looks poised for 4G price competition - report

Ice Norway could be able to provide 4G services at much lower prices than its rivals, the Norwegian website Mobilen.no reported. This was the impression Ice gave in its presentation at postal and telecoms regulator PT's seventh annual forum on 10 June. Ice.net won two 10 MHz blocks in the 800 MHz band in the December 2013 auction.

Norway govt to auction unsold 1800 MHz spectrum

Norwegian postal and telecoms regulator PT said the Ministry of Transport and Communications (SD) has decided to put frequencies in the 1710-1725 MHz and 1805-1820 MHz bands (2 x 15 MHz) up for auction. This is spectrum that was not allocated in last year's auction. PT is running consultation on the allocation with a deadline of 02 May. The form that the auction will take has not been decided upon yet.

Tele2 is in the process of evaluating a number of "strategic opportunities" for its Norwegian operations, the company announced. Tele2 is in talks with Access Industries to gain access to more mobile spectrum in Norway, four people familiar with the matter told Reuters. Tele2 lost out to Access in the spectrum auction in December, leaving it without the frequencies needed to expand its nework. Ventelo said it has appointed Tormod Stien as its chief executive officer from 01 February, with current CEO Thor-Andre Svendsen working with him during a transitional period. Norwegian mobile broadband auction yields NOK 1.785 bln

Norwegian postal and telecoms regulator PT said the auction for frequencies in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands will yield total revenue of NOK 1,784,702,000. TeliaSonera will pay NOK 626.700 million for the airwaves it has won, Telco Data will pay 707.500 million and Telenor will pay NOK 453.002 million.

Norway auction for 800, 900, 1800 MHz bands starts 02 Dec

Norwegian postal and telecoms regulator PT said the auction for airwaves in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz frequency bands starts on 02 December at 09:00 hrs. Bidders are to submit their bank guarantees on 03 December, and those guarantees will be checked over on the following two days. Tele2 merges with Network Norway, merges One Call and MyCall

Tele2 Norway said some 35 full-time equivalent posts will be cut as it announced a merger with its Network Norway arm, and said it is also bringing One Call and MyCall into one unit. Oistein Eriksen will lead One Call and MyCall from 01 November, while Hanne Lovstad is in charge of the merged Tele2-Network Norway entity. Norway PT opens registrations for 800, 900, 1800 MHz auction

The Norwegian postal and telecoms regulator PT said it has starting accepting registrations to take part in the auction for spectrum in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz frequency bands. Participants must submit a registration form along with a bank gaurantee. The deadline for registrations is 15:00 hrs on 15 November. The auction will take place on 02 December 2013 and the results will be announced on 10 December. The auction will used the sealed bid method.

Tele2 Norway sales fall in Q3, outlook lowered

Tele2 Norway saw its net sales on the mobile segment fall to SEK 974 million from SEK 1.117 billion in Q3, mainly due to the reduction of termination rates taking SEK 125 million off revenues.
