Tele2 merges with Network Norway, merges One Call and MyCall

Tele2 Norway said some 35 full-time equivalent posts will be cut as it announced a merger with its Network Norway arm, and said it is also bringing One Call and MyCall into one unit. Oistein Eriksen will lead One Call and MyCall from 01 November, while Hanne Lovstad is in charge of the merged Tele2-Network Norway entity. Tele2 Norway's CEO Arild Hustad said the reorganisations will improve the company's ability to compete on the Norwegian market.

The One Call and MyCall customer service centres will be merged, and those of Tele2 and Network Norway will be concentrated in Oslo from the first quarter of 2014. Hustad said there will be a controlled transfer from Network Norway's customer care centre in Sandnes. All four brands will continue to trade separately. Staff affected by the redunancies will be offered severance pay and carrier development programmes.
