Tele2 names CFO Kirkby as new CEO
Mats Granryd is stepping down as CEO of Tele2 and will be replaced by CFO Allison Kirkby from the start of September, the company announced. Granryd is leaving to become Director General of the GSMA, after five years as CEO of Tele2. He will depart the company at the end of this year, after helping with the transition to the new CEO. 

Kirkby became CFO of Tele2 in May 2014. Prior to that she worked as CFO of the TV production company Shine, now part of 21st Century Fox, and was Virgin Media's Executive Director of Finance Operations & Transformation. Before that she worked two decades at Procter & Gamble in a variety of senior financial and operational roles. 

The GSMA confirmed Granryd's appointment as director general from the start of 2016. Prior to joining Tele2 in 2010, Granryd spent 15 years at Ericsson, serving lastly as head of Northern Europe and Central Asia.

Telia Company said that shareholders at its 26 November Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) have voted in favour of the proposal to appoint Lars-Johan Jarnheimer as chairman of the board. Tele2 CEO Kirkby to become TDC CEO in December

TDC said it is appointing Allison Kirkby as CEO from December 2018. She will be moving to the Danish operator from her current role as president and group CEO at Tele2. Kirkby replaces Pernille Erenbjerg, who announced her resignation in May when the acquisition of TDC by the DK Consortium was announced.

Tele2 forecasts flat sales, lower EBITDA in 2016

Tele2 reported a fall in profits in the fourth quarter, amid costs for restructuring its operations and launching its mobile network in the Netherlands. Tele2 names CFO, new CEOs in Sweden, Netherlands

Tele2 announced a number of changes to its management, including a new permanent CFO and new CEOs of Tele2 Sweden and Tele2 Netherlands. Tele2 cuts EBITDA outlook on Dutch expansion plans

Tele2 has trimmed its EBITDA outlook for 2015 as it accelerates the launch of its own mobile network in the Netherlands. Tele2 started migrating its own customers to the new network earlier this year and the company said it will now open the services to anyone, as network roll-out progressed faster than expected. Tele2 Groep benoemt James Maclaurin tot interim-CFO

Tele2 heeft aangekondigd dat James Maclaurin is benoemd tot interim group CFO per 1 oktober. Hij zal rapporteren aan de nieuwe CEO Allison Kirkby, die tot recent CFO van de operator was. Tele2 revenue growth continues in Q2, EBITDA turns lower

Tele2 reported continued revenue growth in the second quarter on its expansion in the mobile market, while profits fell due to the costs of launching its own network in the Netherlands and restructuring. Tele2 announced that Malin Holmberg has been appointed acting Market Area Director for Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Croatia and Austria and a member of Tele2's Leadership Team, effective 01 August. Tele2 expands shared services centre in Latvia

Tele2's Shared Service Centre plans to expand its activities in Latvia, reports Db.lv. The Centre already provides IT services and will expand to offer financial services within the Tele2 group. Financial services were carried out previously in the operator's home country Sweden. The Riga-based multi-functional centre employs 460 staff and provides services for companies belonging to the Tele2 group in Austria, Croatia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Latvia, the Netherlands and Sweden.

Tele2 mobile service revenue grows 10% in Q1

Tele2 reported first-quarter sales up 6 percent to SEK 6.512 billion, led by 10 percent growth in mobile service revenue. Revenue was also helped by currency effects and rose just 2 percent excluding forex. Tele2 CEO doubts consumer appeal of quad-play

Tele2 CEO Mats Granryd said he is "not a big believer" in quad-play, as the operator sees little demand from consumers to bundle fixed and mobile services.
