Tele2 AB said that it has appointed Guillaume van Gaver as Executive Vice President International, which marks the re-introduction of an area director role for markets other than Sweden and the Netherlands. It added that Lars Torstensson, executive vice president for new growth and strategy, is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
Van Gaver will oversee Tele2 operations in the Baltics, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Austria and Germany on 05 July, and will become a member of the Tele2 Leadership team. He has more than 20 years of international experience in the telecommunication and retail industries, including at Orange, Mobinil, EE and Dixons Carphone.
Torstensson will remain in his role at Tele2 until mid-November, having joined in 2007 and held several top management positions within investor relations, communications, strategy and new growth. He has been invited to join the management team at printing company Gelato, where he said he will carry out digital transformation in a new and different context.
