Tele2 Norway grid could be sold to Poland or Ice - report

Friday 15 August 2014 | 12:12 CET | News
Now that Tele2 is selling its Norwegian arm to TeliaSonera unit NetCom, the future of the Tele2 Norway grid is uncertain, according to website Mobilen.no. The Tele2 grid covers 75 percent of the Norwegian population, and has been partly subsidised by its competitors' customers through asymmetric charging. The idea was that a well-functioning market needed a third player. The subsidy issue poses a problem to the Norwegian Competition Authority, said Mobilen, as there will no longer be a third network.
