Tele2 says Strindheim tunnel will have mobile coverage

Tuesday 24 June 2014 | 12:10 CET | News
Tele2 Norway said the Strindheim road tunnel was due to open on 24 June and will have full mobile coverage for its whole length. The 2.5 kilometer tunnel from Nyhavna to Strindheim in Trondheim has been built under challenging ground conditions due to minimal rock thickness and rock overburden in one of the major crossings. Tele2 said the coverage involved the largest ever optical repeater system it had ever deployed in a tunnel.
