Telecom Agency backs 5G test lab in Groningen

The Netherlands' Telecom Agency announced the 5Groningen initiative, a three-year project to run a field lab in the northern Dutch province focused on developing 5G services for rural areas. The Economic Board Groningen is developing the tests around the town of Loppersum, in cooperation with  Surfnet, Ericsson, Huawei, KPN, TNO and the Telecom Agency. One of the capabilities to be tested is seamless handover between devices on various high and low frequencies. The Agency said it will provide the necessary radio permits for the tests and use its international network to share results and
