Telecom Agency stops enforcement of data retention law

The Dutch Telecom Agency (Agentschap Telecom) announced that it stopped enforcement of the country's data retention legislation. This follows a court ruling suspending the law. The Agency was responsible for monitoring the security, storage duration and deletion of any customer data collected by communications providers under the law. The regulator said it was studying the court decision for further consequences of the ruling.
