
Telecom Argentina has announced the launch of a virtual wallet called Personal Pay following several months of trials to facilitate in-store payment, money transfers and top-ups. The app is initially available to users of Android phones as a beta, with an iOS version in the pipeline.
Anyone can download Personal Pay for free and transfer funds into the corresponding account electronically or in cash via authorised recharge centers. They can then use platform to top up their prepay phone credit, irrespective of their operation, as well as travel cards and service payments. Money can also be sent or received via a QR code.
By way of a launch promo, users can access a wide range of discounts and benefits, including a 30 percent bonus on daily Personal top-ups, a 20 percent refund on service payments plus savings of up to ARS 10,000 on items purchased from the Personal Store. They can also request a virtual and physical Personal Pay prepaid Visa card if they wish, allowing them to withdraw money at ATMs.
