Telecom Italia begins Soliera fibre rollout

Wednesday 11 November 2015 | 09:36 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced that work is underway to expand its fibre-optic network to the town of Soliera in the northern region of Emilia Romagna. The deployment has already begun in various parts of the town, with the company hoping to launch the service at the start of 2016. Customers in connected areas will be able to access the internet at speeds of at least 50 Mbps, increasing to 100 Mbps in the future. Telecom Italia recently revealed that it has rolled out around 1.2 million km of fibre in the first nine months of the year at a speed of 180 km per hour.
