Telecom Italia denies reports of Persidera sale

Telecom Italia (TIM) has issued a statement denying press reports that it could be forced to sell its stake in broadcasting company Persidera as part of the concessions made by top shareholder Vivendi to the European Commission in an antitrust case. "With reference to the rumours regarding the commitments entered into by Vivendi… Telecom Italia points out that the matter has not been the issue of any analysis, even preliminary, by either its management or its corporate bodies," said the company. Persidera is the former Telecom Italia Media Broadcasting company, now 70 percent owned by Telecom
