Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced the activation of a fibre-to-the-cab (FTTC) service in the town of Chiusi in the Tuscany region. The fibre service is already available to all households and businesses throughout the town after TIM rolled out 19 km of fibre cables, giving over 3,200 households access to the internet at speeds of up to 200 Mbps. The launch is part of an upgrade of TIM's FTTC network all over Italy, allowing subscribers in 1,300 localities to access the internet at download speeds of 200 Mbps, double the previous maximum.
