Telecom Italia, F2i end talks on fibre cooperation

An alliance between Telecom Italia and F2i for expanding fibre services to over 36,000 buildings in Milan (80% of the total) is unlikely to go ahead, according to Italian news agency Radiocor. Negotiations launched in November 2011 with the signing of a term sheet, but were suspended at the end of May, making all agreements reached so far invalid. F2i, which controls Milan operator Metroweb, said there was a lack of agreement on the decision-making mechanisms in the joint venture and the sharing of data. F2i has decided to continue with the plans without Telecom Italia.
