Telecom Italia facing EUR 207 mln antitrust fine - report

Telecom Italia is facing an antitrust fine of up to EUR 207 million for continuing abuse of its dominant position in fixed-line network infrastructure, reports news agency Radiocor. Italy's competition authority AGCM has initiated a non-compliance investigation after Italy's Council of State finally upheld a EUR 104 million fine imposed by AGCM on the same grounds back in May 2013. The former incumbent is again accused of unjustifiably refusing an excessively large number of requests from alternative operators to access its wholesale network. The maximum fine payable for the practice is 10
