Telecom Italia looking to sell Italy, Brazil towers in 2014

Thursday 21 November 2013 | 10:43 CET | News
Telecom Italia is looking to conclude the sale and lease back of its mobile towers in Italy and Brazil next year, CEO Marco Patuano told Reuters. The sale is just one of the cost-cutting measures announced earlier in the month as part of a wide-ranging plan to bring down the company's EUR 28 billion debt. Patuano said that the tower deals were at a much more advanced stage in Italy than in Brazil. Whereas the company would be in a position to market the Italy deal in the second quarter of 2014, the process in Brazil remained at an initial phase and would be carried out "sometime in 2014."
