Telecom Italia picks Qwilt to improve OTT video streaming

Qwilt, a provider of open caching and online video delivery system, has announced a contract with Telecom Italia to boost the operator's network capacity and improve video streaming quality for its 30 million-plus customers. Telecom Italia has already implemented Qwilt's open caching architecture to provide enhanced quality of experience for subscribers using online video and live streaming services from OTT content providers in Italy. Qwilt added that the operator's broader organisation – including network planning, engineering and operations teams – has also benefited from the system's
