Telecom Italia to activate FTTC services in 700 localities in coming days

Wednesday 25 March 2020 | 10:43 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced that it will be accelerating the activation of fibre-to-the-curb (FTTC) services in underserved areas all over the country in response to a call from telecom regulator Agcom. The fibre service will be activated in a total of around 700 localities throughout Italy in the coming days, giving subscribers internet access at download speeds of up to 200 Mbps, at least double the previous maximum. TIM said existing ADSL customers in the newly-covered localities will be able to switch to a fibre plan at no extra cost.
