Telefonica Argentina gets go-ahead for cable TV service

Argentina's National Communications Agency (Enacom) has given the approval for Telefonica Argentina to change its statute so that it can provide ICT and audiovisual services, reports Cronista. Currently, the main player in the cable TV sector is Clarin Group, through Cablevision. Although the Digital Argentina Act, passed by the previous government and modified by the current one, did enable companies like Telefonica, Telecom Argentina and Claro to expand in the TV sector, they may do so only after at least two years.
