Telefonica, BigML create early stage investment app

Telefonica Open Future, the operator's open innovation programme, has teamed up with US machine learning company BigML to create an automated platform designed to predict whether a startup, even in its very early stages, will be successful. The application, called PreSeries, harnesses machine learning technology to detect patterns that help investors systematically automate the decision making process, said the partners in a joint statement. The platform's first customer is the Catalyst Fund, managed by Bankable Frontier (BFA) and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and JPMorgan
