Telefonica Brasil net profit up 25% in Q2

Telefonica Brasil (Vivo) posted a net profit of BRL 872.9 million in the second quarter of 2017, up 24.8 percent year-on-year. The positive performance was due to improved financial results and cash generation, as well as a reduction in operating costs and other expenses, the company said. Net operating revenues rose 1.8 percent to BRL 10.69 billion, of which BRL 6.27 billion mobile service revenues (+4.8%) and BRL 4.16 billion fixed service (-1.3%). Net handset revenues dropped 15.2 percent to BRL 262.6 million.
