Telefonica Brasil Q1 revenues up 7%, profits lower

Telefonica Brasil reported first-quarter mobile service revenues up 7.0 percent from a year earlier to BRL 5.27 billion, led by a 22.5 percent increase in mobile internet revenues. This helped offset an 8.9 percent fall in fixed-line revenues to BRL 2.92 billion. Total revenues were up 2.9 percent to BRL 8.55 billion, while EBITDA fell 3.5 percent to BRL 2.75 billion, giving a margin of 32.1 percent. The net profit came in at BRL 810.2 million, down 15.3 percent year-on-year. Mobile unit Vivo finished March with a total 75.988 million customers, down by 150,000 from three months earlier. The
