Telefonica Brasil reports 70% profit drop in Q3

Monday 4 November 2019 | 13:39 CET | News
Telefonica Brasil reported a net profit of BRL 965 million in the third quarter, a drop of 70 percent from the 1.3 billion recorded the year before, due to negative tax effects. Revenues grew by 2.6 percent to BRL 11 billion, its highest level for the past three years. Recurring EBITDA rose by 2.8 percent to BRL 3.99 billion, with a 36.2 percent EBITDA margin. The operator invested BRL 2.4 billion in the quarter (+6.7%), mostly for the expansion of its FTTH fibre network, with 33 new cities added in the period to 154 cities covered, and the expansion of 4.5G to 1,096 cities.
