Telefonica Brasil sees 70% synergies with GVT within 3 years

Telefonica Brasil is aiming to achieve about 70 percent of the estimated synergies through the acquisition of broadband operator GVT within three years, according to acting president Alberto Horcajo, reports Reuters. The total cost savings are projected at about BRL 1.2 billion on an annual basis from the fifth year. The board of directors of Telefonica Brasil will meet on 28 May to consider the purchase of GVT. Also at the meeting, the president of GVT, Amos Genish, will be ratified as president and CEO of Telefonica Brasil.
