Telefonica Chile revenues down 3% on MTR cuts and prepay losses in Q1

Telefonica Chile reported first-quarter revenues down 2.9 percent year on year on an organic basis to EUR 498 million, attributed to a tough competitive environment and regulatory impact, above all an 80 percent cut in mobile termination rates since January. The company's operating income before depreciation and amortisation (OIBDA) was EUR 169 million in the quarter, flat year-on-year, while the OIBDA margin came in at 33.8 percent, up 3.6 percent from the year-earlier period.
