Telefonica, China Unicom offer M2M SIMs OTA personalization

Telefonica, through its Telefonica Digital unit, and China Unicom, with the cooperation of Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), have showcased a pre-standard service for remotely managing M2M SIMs subscription data based on the principles of the embedded SIM. The service allows transferring subscriptions between Telefonica Spain, Telefonica UK, Telefonica Germany and China Unicom over the air. The service aims to enable Telefonica and China Unicom to provide global services to their customers based on a single SIM adapted to the local requirements.
